Cuba is back in the fray

President Obama and his family visited Cuba this week. The Guardian (21 March 2016) drew potential parallels to the Berlin wall moment. In the 21st century, the people of a country can still suffer because the politics of the powerful doesn't fit the narrative each side wants. There are many examples of this around the world. When can or will this change, for the benefit of the populace? Or have they accepted their leaders' desires as national values? It's always worth having those conversations when we visit these countries. In privacy, you learn. And one has to accept the answers, whether they fit expectations or not.

In this particular situation, the younger generation in both Cuba and USA, might have been ready to embrace stronger and a more united economic progress. Perhaps they really don't carry the burdens of previous generations. Maybe peace generally lies on the shoulders of youngsters for that very reason. Time will tell.
