Emotional Abuse: Someone else's anger plays out on you

November 23, 2012

I wanted to share a couple of videos this time, due to some recent questions and issues. Please do take the time to see them and share if you think someone would benefit...

First, for those who are experiencing bullying and emotional abuse at home or in the work place.  The signs will help you know you are OK and it doesn't feel right because it isn't right.  Do speak to someone about it.  The abusers have an anger or control issue, which means they need to do something about it to manage themselves and their emotions and actions.  You're not to blame.

If at home, do speak to a trusted source, friend, family, counsellor, doctor, and check your counselling facilities at work as well. We are all people and we are individuals.  Part of living in a loving and safe environment is to be able to be who you are without constant judgement, criticism, fear of being wrong, fear of eruptions, thinking everything you do is wrong and it's all your fault.

If at work, speak to HR and if you get no joy, aim to find a sympathetic mentor who can champion the cause.  Abuse at work also causes stress and the Health and Safety Executive in the UK includes stress reduction as part of a company's responsibility.  This may mean education, development, coaching or therapy of anyone concerned, who has the need or needs the means to express themselves  through bullying behaviour in the workplace.  It's indeed a 'dirty, little secret' in the workplace.  Society should be evolving so work does not include such approaches. The video shows a Bill that was sponsored in the State of New York, and it is adopted across 21 States against abuse in the workplace. This is a real issue, one that has recognised characteristics and parameters, and has no place in an evolved society environment.

When children suffer, lose their childhood and may go through lonely lives to become adults who still believe what they were told as children.  Really see the people around you.

I have also included an EFT video for those lashing out as part of a PTSD fallout.  Don't hurt those around you. It's not their fault.

Helplines found over the web can provide confidential listening service and some go further to provide or guide towards help.

If you see the videos on this site and feel you need to speak to someone, please reach out to a trusted source or to a helpline to relieve yourself of that burden.  Emotional abusers are good at making out that you are the problem.  Don't let them take away your life and any integrity of being you.
